While not as cosmetic as white fillings, they are great in areas where they aren’t easily seen. 

The next three photos are of a patient with a gold inlay done at Nundah Village Dental.  Notice that you can’t see the filling at all from the front (in the second back tooth).

These are the filling of choice for most dentists to have in their own mouths and those of their family and friends.  Although more expensive than other fillings initially, this investment is outweighed in the long-term by not having a tooth repeatedly filled over decades.
