Thank you to the teachers and year 12 students from Mary Mackillop College for having Dr David and Megan as guest speakers at their recent student development day.
David and Megan presented to the students on a wide range of dental topics including Oral Hygiene, Tooth Decay and Gum disease. As well as how diet and lifestyle factors such as smoking and illicit drugs can affect your teeth. They finished by busting some myths in relation to some of the oral health gimmicks on the market aimed at adolescents.
Libby from the Australian Dental Association also joined David and Megan on the day to discuss careers in dentistry from completing Certificate III in Dental Assisting as well as the path Libby took to become an Oral Health Therapist.
The presentation gave the students the skills needed to make better choices when it comes to caring for the teeth as they transition into adulthood.
