Swelling is the sign of infection and treatment must be undertaken to remove the infection before it spreads to other parts of your body. Infections can become life threatening if action is not taken as it can close your air way restricting your breathing. If it is after hours and you do not have access to our after hours number you should go to hospital. For breathing difficulties call 000.
